Being able to get hold of one of their works of art certainly means being part of a specific status symbol; we are talking about the most famous contemporary artists, people who have managed to change the world of art, revolutionising its meaning on several occasions and who, thanks to their courage and form of artistic communication, have opened up new scenarios in the world of art.

Andy Warhol is undoubtedly one of the most famous contemporary artists, who has managed to influence the world of art and beyond, like few others. A central figure in Pop Art, Andy Warhol has become a myth of contemporary art through his works, almost always created in series, while modifying some details, and his works are invaluable.

Mark Rothko is another exponent of contemporary art, generally considered an abstract expressionist who has left us unique works, such as the famous painting "Orange, red, yellow", which was auctioned for 86.9 million euros.

Another famous contemporary artist is Bansky, considered the most famous street artist in the world and at the same time one of the most controversial characters in the world of art. As it is well known, this artist's true identity is unknown, but he regularly manages to amaze through his works, which show almost always a denunciation.

With a restless and tormented personality, Francis Bacon has managed to express all his anguish and his moods through his deformed human figures, becoming one of the most famous contemporary artists, while Keith Haring is the street artist who has become famous in the '80s thanks to his works, which he left us especially in New York, both on the streets and on the subway, masterpieces recognizable thanks to the unmistakable style that characterized this artist.

Another famous contemporary artist is Jeff Koons, who is also considered a neo-pop icon and is well known worldwide for his very large works inspired by kitsch, as well as the author of one of the covers of a record by Lady Gaga. Koons uses a variety of materials to create his masterpieces and his techniques range and combine perfectly, resulting in successful works such as the "Hanging Heart", which was auctioned at Sotheby's for $23,561,000 in 2007.

Finally, among the most famous contemporary artists there is also Jasper Johns, who is considered one of the greatest exponents of the New Dada movement; this current will influence the birth of other movements, such as Minimal Art, Conceptual Art and Pop Art.

These are just some of the most famous contemporary artists, but the list could go on and on. For example, among the exponents of contemporary art there is also Damien Hirst, known especially in the 90s; Joseph Heinrich Beuys, emblematic artist of the conceptual current or Roy Lichtenstein, exponent of Pop Art who in 1961 created his first works using different images taken from cartoons, combining them with the techniques used in commercial advertisements of that period, creating masterpieces that largely reflected the phenomenon of consumerism that occurred at that time.
